Del Toro Insurance 25th Anniversary
Del Toro is a family business and that has defined much of the path it has traveled to this day. The main reason for starting out in this industry has been to contribute to a community that needs us and with which we feel an eternal commitment. Growth would not have been possible without the support and permanent exchange with our community whom we have tried to serve with immense respect.
On the other hand, we have tried to provide a service that is also deeply rooted in family values because we consider that targeting the well-being of families in a society that is transforming day by day is essential. We have simply delivered transparency, honesty, trust and loyalty, which I believe have really been the key to being able to treasure the preference of our clients over the years.
Time really passes very quickly. We began our journey in a small office located in the west of the county. Today we are a solid company with a commercial presence throughout the state of Florida and an increasingly large group of franchisees who have opted to be part of the Del Toro family, making our business model their own. To our pride, the vast majority have been families that have turned to entrepreneurship and that, today, replicate those values of transparency, honesty, trust and loyalty to their clients.

Homeowners in South Florida may encounter several types of water damage, including burst pipes, flooding, hurricanes, and sewage backups.
Some of the most common causes of water damage in South Florida include:
Understanding the diverse types of water damage is essential for homeowners in South Florida to take preventive measures and ensure they have the right insurance coverage in an emergency.
Water damage can result in expensive and time-consuming repairs. Therefore, it’s crucial to take steps to prevent water damage from occurring in the first place. Here are some tips that can help prevent water damage in your home:
Although these are some of the best ways to take a preventative initiative on water damage, these tips are not foolproof. With that said, it is ALWAYS a good idea to make sure that your insurance covers you for any flooding or other water damage that can occur. In the next section, we will talk about the correlation between water damage and homeowners’ insurance.
Home insurance is an important investment for homeowners since it covers losses and damages to a home and its contents. It protects properties against a variety of threats such as fire, theft, and natural catastrophes. The flexibility to personalize home insurance coverage depending on a homeowner’s demands and budget makes them more desirable.
Dwelling coverage is one of the most prevalent forms of water damage home insurance coverage. This coverage protects the home’s structure, including the roof, walls, and flooring, and often covers damage caused by burst pipes, leaks, and other unexpected water damage. On the other hand, personal property coverage protects personal goods in the house, such as furniture, electronics, and clothing, and often covers damage caused by water leaks or other sorts of abrupt water damage.
While some home insurance plans cover water damage, it’s crucial to read the policy’s terms and conditions carefully to understand what forms of water damage are covered and under what conditions. Not all insurance, for example, covers water damage caused by negligence or lack of upkeep. Some plans additionally exclude forms of water damage, such as damage caused by sewer backups. To secure proper coverage, homeowners should also understand their policy’s limitations and deductibles and consider adding endorsements or riders to cover specific hazards.
Homeowners in South Florida should examine various aspects when selecting a home insurance policy to ensure adequate coverage. First, they should confirm that the insurance adequately covers the property and personal possessions. This involves going through the coverage, deductible, and premium.
Homeowners in South Florida should also examine potential dangers such as flooding and storms and ensure they have enough insurance coverage. They should also compare insurance from multiple insurers to get the most value for their money.
As we mentioned throughout this article, water damage is a common risk for homeowners in South Florida, and it’s important to have adequate coverage in case of an event. To ensure they have the right coverage, homeowners should consider purchasing flood insurance, which is not typically covered by standard home insurance policies. They should also review their policy carefully to understand what types of water damage are covered and under what circumstances.
For example, some policies may exclude coverage for water damage caused by sewer backups. Homeowners should also ensure they have sufficient dwelling coverage to protect the home’s structure against water damage caused by sudden events such as burst pipes or leaks.
If you are purchasing a policy and are unclear about what is and is not covered when it comes to water damage, don’t hesitate to reach out to your insurance agent. A professional is the easiest way to break down the fine print of any policy so that you can feel confident in your purchase and always remain adequately covered.
Filing a water damage claim with your home insurance company might be difficult, but moving as quickly as possible when water damage happens is critical. The first step is to take lots of pictures of all the damage and establish an inventory of the damaged goods. It’s also critical to take preventative measures, such as turning off the water supply or covering a leaky roof with a tarp to stop further damage from occurring.
Next, notify your home insurance company of the damage. Your insurance company will inquire about the source of the damage, the degree of the damage, and any personal injuries that may have happened, which is why proof through images is important to have readily available. Your agent will also provide you with guidance on how to file your claim.
When you file a claim, an adjuster will be assigned to analyze the damage and decide the amount of coverage. You should always attempt to make an appearance during the adjuster’s examination ensures that any damage is documented.
Here are a few tips to help your claim process go as smoothly as possible:
